Matthew Q Barfield, DO

About

Getting to know his patients well, helping them to identify the cause of their pain and directing treatments to help them is what drives Dr. Matthew Barfield in his work.

After earning his Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University, he completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, both in Forth Worth, TX. He finished an internship at the Plaza Medical Center of Forth Worth, Forth Worth, TX and a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Dr. Barfield takes a multimodal approach to creating an individualized treatment plan. Medication is one part that can be utilized for post-procedure discomfort and other ways as well.

Every aspect of Dr. Barfield’s care focuses on the patient. “The patient is the one suffering with pain and puts trust in their physician to help identify the cause and best treatment while keeping their safety in mind at all times,” he said.

In Dr. Barfield’s free time, he focuses on his faith and family. He enjoys teaching children’s religious education as well as leading a Boy Scout Troop. He also likes to go camping and hiking with his family.
