Dr. Soteropoulos joined National Spine & Pain Centers in 2012 after completing advanced fellowship training in Interventional Pain and Spine Management at the Virginia Commonwealth University, where he also received advanced training in spinal cord stimulation from one of the field’s foremost experts. A native of Washington, DC, and graduate of Georgetown University Medical School, he is excited to return to the area.
Prior to his Fellowship, Dr. Soteropoulos completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital, during which time he served as Sports Medicine Education Chair of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department. He has distinguished himself throughout his academic career and medical training, including having authored articles on Interventional Pain and Physiatry for prestigious industry journals that have been lauded by peers as “practice changing.”
A staunch advocate for his patients, Dr. Soteropolous uses state-of-the-art neuromodulatory and non-surgical techniques to diagnose and treat a wide array of both chronic and acute pain conditions.
Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Soteropoulos maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, International Spine Intervention Society, and North American Neuromodulation Society.
A sports enthusiast, Dr. Soteropoulos competed in basketball, soccer, swimming and tennis throughout school; activities he continues to enjoy today, along with travelling with his family.
