Dr. Kendall has long been interested in the field of pain management and finds his chosen career to be deeply rewarding. An expert clinician with advanced training in sophisticated, non-surgical techniques, Dr. Kendall administers pain-relieving therapies that significantly improve quality of life. He is one of the region’s most proficient physicians in performing fluoroscopic-guided procedures, including epidural nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation, intradiscal electrothermal annuloplasty, vertebroplasty, spinal cord stimulation, and non-surgical disc decompression techniques.
Dr. Kendall joined National Spine & Pain Centers in 2004 after completing a fellowship in interventional pain management at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. A respected leader among his colleagues, Dr. Kendall was elected Chief Fellow and ultimately served as a clinical instructor at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Well versed in his field, Dr. Kendall has published articles and lectured nationally on a range of interventional pain management topics, including the use of spinal cord stimulation, thermal annuloplasty, and radiofrequency rhizotomy in treating back pain, as well as pharmacological approaches to chronic pain. He serves on the National Physician Advisory Board for Advanced Bionics as a thought leader on best practices for spinal cord stimulation (SCS) technology in clinical medicine. In addition, he conducts seminars instructing physicians on how to perform advanced SCS procedures and is regularly consulted on challenging cases.
Prior to his fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Kendall completed his residency at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, where he also served as Chief Resident. He earned his osteopathic degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and is Board-certified in both Pain Management and Anesthesiology. He maintains several active memberships, including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, International Spine Intervention Society, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and American Osteopathic Association.
When Dr. Kendall is not tackling the challenges of pain management, he’s challenging his skills in softball, basketball, tennis, golf, and snowboarding.
