Dr. Acosta received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, as well as a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science degree in Public Health from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. In 1992 he completed his internship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York, and then went on to complete his residency in Anesthesiology at New York University Medical Center.
While serving in the armed forces in South Carolina in 1995, Dr. Acosta was assigned as a staff anesthesiologist at Naval Hospital Charleston. He completed his Pain Management fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina, then moved to Fort Myers in 2000 to practice at Lee Memorial Health System facilities.
He is Board-certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a member of a number of professional organizations.

I have been a pt with Dr Acosta for almost 10 yrs and recently moved closer to their Bonita office i have had the pleasure meeting most all of the staff and all are so kind & caring ! It has this calming affect on me, they all smile before you know it im smiling ..great staff always ! Dr acosta is the best doctor i know ...truly am grateful...
