Pavli S. Demian, DO
About
Patients feeling better by getting appropriate care fuels the work Dr. Pavli S. Demian does daily at The Pain Management Center.
“I was driven to physiatry to appreciate the way the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system interact to drive function,” he said. “Pain management allows us to try to correct any issues and to allow the body to heal itself.”
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in genetics from Rutgers University, he earned a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Rowan/University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine.
He completed an internship at Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine/CarePoint Health Christ Hospital and a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School/Kessler Institute. A pain medicine fellowship followed at UCLA-WLA VA in California.
When meeting with patients, Dr. Demian treats everyone like family. He knows the patient’s needs always come first.
As he puts together an individualized treatment plan, he strives to avoid opioids by figuring out the proper diagnosis and treat the issue appropriately instead of covering up the pain with medications.
With a number of new developments on the horizon in the pain management field, Dr. Demian is excited about improvements to ultrasound imaging. “We can better target pain generators and decrease risks of adverse effects.”
Away from the office, Dr. Demian can be found outdoors usually hiking, kayaking, fishing, surfing or gardening. He is a proud father to two amazing boys.
