Kent Mitchell, MD
About
Whether he is meeting patients for the first time or seeing returning ones, Dr. Kent L. Mitchell wants to hear about the issues they are experiencing. “I am a good listener and I enjoy explaining complex problems and solutions in ways people can understand.”
Since 2008, Dr. Mitchell has contributed his pain medicine expertise to the Texas Pain Institute. “As a physician, I function as the patient’s partner in seeking answers and solutions to their pain problems. In that regard, I seek to be an understanding and empathic listener and advisor.”
Graduating with a biomedical science bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, he earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center.
John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth was a pivotal part of Dr. Mitchell’s medical education. He completed his internship, residency and two fellowships in sports medicine and pain medicine respectfully at the Texas-based facility.
He has also organized and participated in medical mission trips to The Philippines and Trinidad and Tobago, set up clinics in Juarez, Mexico and participated in a mobile clinic in rural Venezuela.
He is driven in his work by helping patients understand their diagnosis and advising and encouraging them on the path forward.

[...]. Dr Chris was very pleasant and kind and got the IV easily on his first attempt. Other than being a pin cushion, the experience for the procedure was great!
