Cristina B Bartis, MD
About
Being able to perform treatments that improve patients’ lives is what first drew Dr. Cristina Bartis to the fields of pain management and anesthesiology.
“I enjoy making my patient's lives a little easier and reminding them that I am invested in their wellbeing,” she said.
She is a graduate of Austin College in Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in biology. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from UT Southwestern Medical School. Her anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship were completed at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
Serving as a pain management specialist and anesthesiologist for the Texas Pain Institute since 2017 and has been practicing for over 10 years.
When putting together a treatment plan, Dr. Bartis believes “effort, persistence, and compassion are some of the most important driving components behind the successful treatment.” She follows a multi-pronged approach to get the most successful outcomes including medication management as part of treatment when used in conjunction with other modalities including interventions.
“Ultimately, the patient has the most important role in treatment and recovery,” she said. “It is my role as the physician to provide support, guidance, and expertise.”
When not treating patients, Dr. Bartis enjoys reading, watching movies, and traveling.
