Prolotherapy

Testimonial: Back Pain

Ada Evans, Teacher
Ever since the car accident I had in May 2005, I had sought relief from pain in my lower back and tingling sensations in my left leg and foot. I had gone from medical specialist to medical specialist - internist, physical therapist, orthopedist, and neurologist - with limited results. Despite my following all these specialists' advice to the letter and taking various prescribed medications, I did not improve and frequently complained, "I have no life!"

I could barely walk, could not participate in the activities I loved (biking, swimming, and sight-seeing), and had difficulty finding a comfortable spot in the bed so as to get a good night\'s sleep. Even teaching, my life's calling, had become a chore; and as a contracted teacher and private tutor, I had lost clients because I simply could no longer teach effectively because of the physical torment of commuting and moving around even a little bit. In addition, my marriage of some three decades suffered because I could no longer participate in the activities we enjoyed prior to the car accident.

Finally, in late 2007, my neurologist recommended that I see Dr. Friedlis, who diagnosed my problem: dysfunctional sacroiliac joint due to damage to the sacroiliac ligament. I believe that my SI joint had been slipping ever since the car accident. No wonder that nothing had brought me satisfactory relief from the unrelenting pain and the odd sensations in my left foot.

Together, Dr. Friedlis and I decided to try prolotherapy. Within a few short weeks, I had my life back! As the prolotherapy treatments continued over the course of the six months of treatment, my SI joint stabilized. Now I no longer have the many physical limitations which had so long interfered with my quality of life. Everyone around me - clients, students, friends, family, and my husband - are amazed that I'm back after so long of my being on the sidelines of life.
