Robert H. Wagner, MD
Originally from Northern Virginia, Dr. Wagner is an an expert practitioner in Prolotherapy, and he has lectured and mentored physicians nationally in this innovative technique. He joined Capitol Spine & Pain Centers in 1999, and soon became well known among his colleagues and patients as a talented and knowledgeable pain specialist. His skills in advanced, non-surgical techniques have helped countless patients resolve complex pain issues and get their lives back.
Dr. Wagner specializes in fluoroscopic guided injections and regenerative therapies for spine and joint injuries. Dr. Wagner is also one of just a few physicians in the country currently trained in the rapidly emerging field of Platelet Rich Plasma Injections (PRP).
Well respected within his field, Dr. Wagner is frequently asked to share his expertise in speaking and instructional venues. He has developed workshops on injection techniques and prolotherapy for the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the American Academy of Family Practitioners. He also appeared as a featured lecturer for WebMD and has published articles relating to physical medicine and rehabilitation. In addition, Dr. Wagner received the Physician's Recognition Award from the American Medical Association for his commitment to continuing medical education.
Dr. Wagner is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management and he maintains several active memberships including the American Academy of Pain Management, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Association of Orthopaedic Medicine and American Academy of Pain Management.
Not only a gifted clinician, Dr. Wagner is equally skilled in the kitchen. A self-proclaimed chef, he enjoys preparing gourmet cuisine for family and friends. "Healthy food can be a powerful medicine."
