Ignacio Badiola, MD

Dr. Badiola joined Capitol Spine and Pain Centers in 2010, after completing a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Prior to his fellowship, he completed an anesthesiology residency and was awarded a surgical internship of the year award. He is excited to bring his skills and techniques to the people of the Northern Virginia/Metro DC area.

Dr. Badiola believes in a comprehensive approach to pain management and spine pain care. His goal is to use the latest and most sophisticated interventional and non surgical techniques to reduce patient’s pain and get them functional again as soon as possible.

His full range of fluoroscopic-guided procedures include: various blocks for peripheral nerve pain, spine pain procedures (radio frequency ablation, epidural injections) and vertebroplasty. He also has an interest in interventional procedures to treat abdominal and pelvic pain such as hypogastric nerve blocks and celiac plexus blocks.

He continues to lecture and teach to both the medical community as well as the general public regarding back pain and non surgical procedures available to treat back pain. Determined to bring the best for his patients, Dr.Badiola continues to investigate and learn new breakthrough treatments in pain management. His interest in teaching ensures that each patient leaves the office with a clear understanding of their condition as well as options available to treat it.

Dr. Badiola maintains membership in American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Dr. Badiola is fluent in Spanish and enjoys football, biking and hiking.
