Deborah Nelson, PA-C
Deborah Nelson joined National Spine & Pain Centers in 2000 and works as part of Dr. Virgil Balint’s team in managing acute and chronic pain. She plays an integral role in developing individual treatments for her patients. Her expertise encompasses medication management, trigger point therapy, administration of peripheral joint injections and various osteopathic manipulative techniques.
She is the lead Physician Assistant at CSPC and serves as an exemplary role model for her colleagues. She takes an active role in providing quality pain management to her patients and has presented educational lectures to her peers on the subject.
Deborah earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from DeSales University in 2000. She earned her Bachelor of Science at Muhlenberg College where she double-majored in Biology and History with Honors, graduating in the top 10% of her class.
Deborah is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and an active member of the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants, and served as co-chair of the Northern Virginia Chapter.
Prior to working at CSPC, Deborah worked as a House Manager for developmentally disabled individuals in Doylestown, PA, and as a Case Manager for chronic mentally ill patients in Chicago, IL. She was a full-time volunteer with the Lutheran Volunteer Corps for Interfaith House, a respite care facility serving homeless individuals with medical needs, in Chicago.
Deborah resides in Northern Virginia and enjoys spending time with friends and family. She directs the Cherub Choir at her church and has sung with the Reston Chorale. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys music, reading, scrap booking, and traveling.
Deborah earned her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from DeSales University. She is a board-certified Physician Assistant, and holds membership in the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants
