Baljinder K. Brar, MD

Dr. Brar joined Capitol Spine & Pain Centers in 2012 after relocating to Northern Virginia from Birmingham, Ala., where she completed fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management at Alabama Orthopedic, Spine and Sports Medicine Associates.

After earning her Medical Degree in Europe, Dr. Brar returned to the U.S. to complete residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. During her residency, she served as a department representative for both the Committee on Graduate Medical Education and the Committee of Interns and Residents. She interned in general surgery at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons.

An advocate for continuing education, Dr. Brar dedicates considerable time to learning about advanced pain management techniques and breakthrough therapies. She is expertly trained in a variety of diagnostic specialties and treatments, including: fluoroscopic-guided spinal injections, radiofrequency ablation, intradiscal injections, discography, kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty and peripheral joint injections.

Dr. Brar believes successful patient care is born from collaboration, honest dialogue, and always keeping patients informed about their diagnoses and treatment options. Her goal is to improve patients’ health and quality of life using a personalized, multidisciplinary approach.

Dr. Brar maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Pain Management, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation.

Dr. Brar enjoys world travel, and exploring the museums and galleries in Washington, DC.
