Austin Churchill, MD
Dr. Churchill joined the medical team at Capitol Spine & Pain Centers as a knowledgeable, compassionate physiatrist with a sensitive and thorough approach to patient care. Dr. Churchill helps patients go beyond achieving relief to regaining function and resuming active lifestyles. A skilled diagnostician, she effectively addresses a wide range of non-surgical pain management techniques and is adept at providing patients with the most effective methods for treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders.
Throughout her medical training, Dr. Churchill empathized with people in pain and ultimately was drawn to specialize in pain medicine. Drawing from both her personal and medical experience, Dr. Churchill has acquired a distinct treatment style, defined by her great empathy and understanding of the challenges patients face. From non-surgical treatments to rehabilitation to patient education, Dr. Churchill guides a multidisciplinary team in providing her patients with the most comprehensive care for the best possible outcome.
Dr. Churchill’s initiative and dedication have earned her several honors, including the Alan Van Poznak Award for Excellence in Anesthesiology at Cornell Medical College, and the Substance Abuse Prevention Award at Cornell University. She has lectured on a wide variety of topics including sports injuries, musculoskeletal problems in pregnancy, degenerative disc disease, and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. While completing her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York, she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Churchill maintains membership in the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Medical Association.
In addition to her successful career as a physiatrist, Dr. Churchill enjoys being a mom to her young daughter and engaging in her favorite hobbies: scuba diving, hiking, and camping.
