Abe Cherrick, MD

Dr. Cherrick is an expert diagnostician and talented non-surgical pain specialist who has been recognized repeatedly in WASHINGTONIAN Magazine's Top Doctors for Pain Management. He has played an integral role in the establishment of Capitol Spine & Pain Centers, which has evolved into an established leader in non-surgical pain relief. Capitol Spine & Pain Centers has assembled an outstanding medical team whose collective skills span the full range of traditional, advanced, and regenerative pain management techniques resulting in the most comprehensive patient care available.

Dr. Cherrick specializes in the evaluation and treatment of spinal disc disorders and other complex pain conditions such as myofascial pain, fibromyalgia, and chronic regional pain syndrome. Patients appreciate his thorough, personalized approach and trust his extensive knowledge of pain medicine. Dr. Cherrick takes every patient's pain seriously, diagnosing its source and developing the most specific and effective treatment plan available.

Dr. Cherrick is well respected among his peers as is evidenced by his unique achievement as one of only 40 physicians, nationwide, who are yearly chosen to serve as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Cherrick served as Chief Resident during his residency at Sinai Hospital in Detroit. He is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management and maintains several active memberships, including the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Pain Society.

Baseball is a true passion of Dr. Cherrick’s. He still avidly roots for his hometown St. Louis Cardinals and amiably cheers on the Washington Nationals. He continues to play in local leagues and recently played catcher behind the bat of Hall of Fame great Lou Brock.
